Preimplantation Genetic Screening is an advanced technique in IVF whereby the embryos formed can be pre-screened for genetic and chromosomal defects by analysing the cells of the embryo by sophisticated techniques.

This helps discarding embryos with chromosomal abnormalities and not transferring them, hence increasing chances of IVF success.

This is especially useful in women with advanced age, recurrent unexplained IVF failures and in women with recurrent miscarriages with chromosomal defects in either partner.
